Bird Nest Monitoring Workshop for Aspiring Citizen Scientists
NestWatch is a bird nest-monitoring project, developed as a collaboration between the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center at the National Zoo in Washington, DC and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. It has been funded by the National Science Foundation.
NestWatch teaches people how to become a citizen scientist and contribute to research by locating bird nests and submitting information online about nest site location, habitat, species, and number of eggs and young.
If you are interested in participating in the NestWatch program, this workshop led by NestWatch staff at the Zoo will teach you how to find nests, monitor them, and enter data into Cornell’s website.
