Mile: 26 - 27
Along the Potomac
Mile 26 is accessible from the end of Sycamore Landing Road (mile 27.2), just west of McKee-Beshers WMA. Alternately, try a footpath leading from the back area of Hughes Hollow.
Most of mile 26 runs behind McKee-Beshers, so one can expect much the same avifauna as at Hughes Hollow. This section of the canal has been reliable in the past for breeding cerulean warblers and migrant Swainson's and gray-cheeked thrushes.
