Along the Potomac
Looking North towards Little Falls from Chain BridgeMilepost #5 is close to Lock #5, also known as the Brookmont Lock. Mile 5 includes Lock #6, at mile 5.4. The towpath is accessible by a footpath from the Clara Barton Parkway.
Check the river here for waterfowl in winter. Many ducks and geese congregate in the rapids south of the Little Falls Dam.
