Field Trips
DC Audubon has a monthly field trip series in which we visit great birding sites in the DC area. Sites are chosen according to what species we can expect to see in a particular month. To read about upcoming field trips, see here [0]. You can receive an email notification for each trip by subscribing to our dca_fieldtrips list. Notices will be sent about a week before each trip. This list is restricted to field trip matters only, and off-topic posts are not permitted.

Mid-winter Canal Survey
Each January, DC Audubon coordinates a survey of bird life along the 184.5-mile length of the C&O Canal. For more information on the count, as well as past results, see here [1]. Our canal count email list helps us keep past and future participants informed about upcoming survey events. Postings will be limited to important announcements. (Note that subscription to the email list does not give you a mile assignment; you will still need to contact one of the count compilers.)
