This area along the Potomac River is well known for an abundance of Spring migrants and a variety of breeding birds. We can expect several warblers, including Prothonotary, which breed here, and others just passing through. In addition, various Vireos, Tanagers, Orioles and other colorful songsters should be out in force. Meet at the Lock at 7:00 a.m.

NestWatch is a bird nest-monitoring project, developed as a collaboration between the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center at the National Zoo in Washington, DC and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. It has been funded by the National Science Foundation.
